As mentioned last week, the Talent Show was brilliant! The winners were as follows: third place – Anarkali Nair 6M who played the piano with confidence and flair; in second place was Grace Briggs 5MK who, rather appropriately, danced to Amazing Grace and was so graceful!

The worthy winner was Jordan Blackwell 3A who was just too cool for school and danced his way to first place – most impressive! We raised a total of £220.75 for Children in Need from both the Talent Show and Mrs Charity’s School Council cake sale – so well done everyone!

Next week we have dance performances for parents/carers. Erika Folwell, our dance teacher, has again excelled herself. I really enjoy watching the finished performances and I hope that you do too.

Isn’t it great to see our pupils performing with confidence and enjoying the experience? IH will be performing on Wednesday (Mrs Charity and Mrs Sodiq’s classes at 10:15 and Mrs Smith-Phelps’ class at 11:30).

On Thursday there are two different performances; one for years 3 and 4 (3A and 4SF) at 2:30 then one for years 5 and 6 (5RJ and 6M) at 10:30, both in the hall. Please be prompt as once the children start dancing, it is distracting when someone is late.

On Saturday 2nd December, Mrs Osborne and her fabulous choir will be singing at the Hinckley Library at 10am.

We are well known at the library as our choir has sung there many times. This time there are other school choirs too and, of course, our choir will be the best one!

How do I know this? Well, I heard them rehearsing and it made my day – I especially loved the Hawaiian Christmas song.

Throughout the next few weeks, the Youth Team at St John’s Church will be teaching RE lessons throughout the school.

They have been doing this for the past few years and the children really enjoy learning the Christmas story from our visitors. We are very grateful that they are able to do this for the school, as it is all voluntary.

As our two staff members in the office are returning to work after surgery, you will be pleased to hear that we can think about having our very popular Coffee Stops again!

We will start off on Friday 14th December at 2:30 where we will be fundraising to support the family of one of our ex-pupils who recently had a serious accident.

Please come along and buy cakes to take home or better still, join us for tea/coffee and a cake in the gym.

Best wishes,

Margaret Greig
