Dear Parents/Carers,

Our PTA is brilliant! We had our Annual General Meeting on Wednesday after school and due to the hard work of the PTA members and also the fact that, as parents and carers, you support our PTA by attending events, we have raised enough money to make a donation towards the cost of the Daily Mile Path as well as giving each class some money to buy games for wet breaks and lunchtimes. On behalf of our staff and children -thank you!!

On Wednesday we had a visit from one of our Governors who came to see what the year five and six classes are doing in maths lessons. She was impressed by the teaching and learning that she saw and the great attitudes of the children – again, Westfield pupils showing how brilliant they are!

Last night we held a Curriculum Evening in school and were so pleased to see so many pupils in school with their families (nearly 100 families joined us). Toby did his job well (I have to admit) and it was great to see so many parents and carers trying the activities. Thank you to our hard working staff both in the classrooms and in the kitchen -I’m sure the food went down well. I really hope the evening gave you all an insight into our school and you were able to take part in activities that were fun with your children.

Today, we had a maths day where the children moved around the school trying different maths activities with various teachers, classroom assistants and even governors. It was good to see the children enjoying their day and were learning at the same time. We hope they have come home tonight saying what a good day they had!

Next Friday (17th November) our school nurse, April Taylor, will be holding a drop-in at our school from 8:50 - 9:50. Consultations will be for approximately 10 minutes per family. Please come through reception to sign in.

Best wishes, Margaret Greig
