Happy New Year! It seems strange to be still saying this as it seems a long time ago that we celebrated a new year and a new beginning. I hope that you are all keeping to your New Year Resolutions?? Apparently, Blue Monday is the third Monday in January and it is called that because it is the day when our resolve crumbles and resolutions are broken – this year it is Monday 15th January (just so you know)!!
It has been lovely to see all our children back in school after the break, ready to work hard and enjoy lessons – that’s what they have told me anyway...
We are pleased to announce that the Coffee Stops are back! This means that you can join us on alternate Fridays from 2:30 onwards in the gym for tea/coffee and cake. Cakes can also be bought to take away. They are very reasonable (only 50p each) and rather yummy! The first Coffee Stop is on Friday 19th January which is also Mrs Mayfield’s Class Assembly. We hope to see you there...
ESAFETY ONLINE SURVEY
The Local Authority has asked that parents/carers please complete this short safety online survey (I did it in under 5 minutes so it is not time consuming). This is the link and thank you in advance...
In the next few weeks, the vast majority of our pupils will be going on a school trip: years 3 and 4 are going to the Sea Life Centre in Birmingham with Year 5 and 6 going to the Natural History Museum in Tring, Hertfordshire.
Dates are as follows: Year 3 - Wednesday 31st January; Year 4 – Wednesday 7th February; Year 5 – Wednesday 31st January and Year 6 – Thursday 25th January. You should have had letters and reply slips already. If not check bags and pockets!
Both trips are linked to the topic the children are studying this half term: Darwin’s Delights which is Science based (Years 5 and 6) and Flow which is a Geography and Science based topic (Years 3 and 4).
