Dear Parents/Carers,

PTA AGM

Our PTA Annual General Meeting is to be held on Tuesday 23rd October at 2pm in Mrs Cheney’s room. We are always looking for any parents/carers who are able to spare a little time to support the PTA who do a fabulous job organising events and Charity Fund Raisers throughout the year. The PTA supports lots of the extra activities we do in school e.g. subsidising school trips and the Goodies’ Treats as well as resourcing some of the lunchtime clubs. We would not be able to offer as much as we do without their hard work and great ideas.

5MK CLASS ASSEMBLY/COFFEE STOP

Today it was the turn of Mrs McKenzie’s class to perform for the school and their families. The assembly was about Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling with a bit of curiosity thrown in – I know, it sounds strange when you say it but it was a brilliant assembly and it did make sense when it was performed! Well done to 5MK – we are watching the children very carefully as the Year Five Nativity is coming up next half term and we need great actors... Coffee Stop is in the gym from 2:30 onwards!

PARENTS’ EVENING

It was really great to see so many parents and carers in school to discuss their child’s progress with their new class teacher. It is good for parents and teachers to meet early on and for parents to find out what their children are actually doing in school. Hopefully, your meetings were a success. It is so important that we work together to make sure your children enjoy learning and make good progress.

DRAMA PERFORMANCES

Miss Blyth, who is working with groups of pupils this year on Performing Arts skills invited the parents and carers of the children she has worked with this half term into school to watch their performances.

The children have had 5 sessions, each one hour long and I have to say, I was most impressed with what they had learned! Miss Blyth has worked wonders – she has managed to give our children the confidence to stand on stage and sing/dance/perform – some children enjoy it anyway but for those children who have either never done this before or who are too shy to perform were all able to step up and go for it! Well done all! Every pupil in school will have the opportunity to do this too.

Enjoy the half term break!!
