Dear Parents/Carers,

Yesterday five classes performed their dance to the school and to their parents in the hall. For the first time, I was not able to watch the performances but had managed to see them in rehearsal. 5MK and 6C’s dances were based on their Time Traveller topic with 3S and 4R’s dances being about 1066. Both very different and fabulous. It is important that our pupils have the opportunity to learn new skills at school and we offer a range of different activities, so they can do so. We are so lucky to have such a brilliant dance teacher, Erika, who creates some amazing dance routines. All pupils have one term of dance every year.

Next week on Wednesday 5th December, the PTA is organising an after-school Christmas disco for our year three and four pupils. Children who are going to this will bring their disco clothes to school and get changed at the end of the day. The disco will finish at 4:45. Please be prompt to collect your child/children.

Years 5 and 6 will have a Valentines’ Day disco in the spring term.

Our wonderful school choir is performing in the community twice next week and then again in the last week of term. Mrs Osborne and Mrs Lewis organise the choir and they have been practising Christmas songs for a few months now – I have heard them rehearsing and the songs, as usual, are fun and enjoyable. The choir will be singing at Armada Court on Friday 7th December, Hinckley Library on Saturday 8th December and then at the Co-op on Trent Road on Monday 17th December at 11:30.

Mrs Osborne is fabulous with our choir and we are always well received wherever we go. A lot of hard work goes into the rehearsals and the organisation of taking pupils out of school. As well as the choir, Mrs Osborne is rehearsing the year 5 Nativity – she is a very busy teacher and all her hard work is much appreciated.

Today is Coffee Stop. Please join us for refreshments and cake in the gym – if you cannot stay then you can buy cakes to take away for the weekend.

Best wishes, Margaret Greig
