Dear Parents/Carers,

This week year five pupils and staff have been busy performing their Christmas Production which, in true Westfield fashion, was not only fabulous but quirky and full of fun! Mrs McKenzie and her brilliant year five team have worked their magic, yet again, and we have seen brilliant all singing all dancing performances this week (they have performed ‘How Christmas Came to Be’ five times) and were completely exhausted by the end of it all. Our pupils are fantastic!

I would like to thank the following staff: Mrs McKenzie (director); Mrs Western (photographs); Miss Randall (backstage); Mrs Castle, Mrs Worthington, Mrs Waller, Miss Stynes, Mrs Ansell front of house or backstage support.

In addition, Mrs Osborne who is musical director and Mrs Elwell who made the costumes, have both been brilliant and we would not have had the spectacular show that we had without their skills. Thank you also to Miss Billings in the office for admin support. The Westfield team is amazing!!

Next week, we are having year group parties: years five and six on Tuesday afternoon; years three and four plus IH on Thursday afternoon. Hopefully, teachers have written to you with details of these parties. Please check your child’s bag!

Today, we have our last Coffee Stop of 2018 so this is your last chance to buy some of our yummy cakes – only 50p each. Why not buy some for the weekend or join us for coffee and cake in the gym?

This will be drawn on Friday 21st December. You should have had tickets already but there are still a few left… Mrs Elwell’s raffles are always well worth a ticket! All proceeds go back into the PTA funds so that we can buy extra things for our pupils.

This term the children who have not had detention will have a chance to see their teachers showing off performing the Teachers’ Panto on Friday. This will include an ice lolly as a treat.

On Friday 21st December in the morning, the whole school will be attending a Christmas Service at St John’s Church. We will be walking there and back so make sure your child has a coat.

Best wishes,

Margaret Greig
