This term Year 5 are going to be learning about their local history included the famous War of the Roses, on the 22nd August 1485 Henry Tudor brought a small rebel army to face the much larger Royal army of King Richard lll. How did this change the course of history?
Who were the Tudors?
The first Tudor king was Henry Vll. He became king after the battle of Bosworth field, which ended the War of the Roses. He was followed by his son, Henry Vlll, who was famous for marrying six times and beheading two of his wives! What sort of man would order the beheading of his wife? Was she really that bad?
